The Ankersgade Tapestry

In partnership with Aarhus Municipality and the Culture Department, our objective was to transform Ankersgade Folkehuset into a more vibrant and inviting space, enhancing its visual appeal and fostering a stronger sense of community spirit.

Through active engagement with community members, we aimed to develop a concept sketch for a collective artwork to adorn the entrance facade of the community house. This artwork is designed to authentically capture and reflect the collective identity and values of the community.

Steps to Bring Your Artistic Vision to Life

Step 1: Share Your Vision and Challenges

1. Initial Contact: Email me with details about your community or organization’s story and vision.

      • Identify Issues: Describe any current challenges such as exclusion, isolation, or lack of diversity within your group.
      • Desired Changes: Share what positive changes or outcomes you hope to achieve.

Step 2: Sketch Phase

1. Schedule a Meeting: We will arrange a meeting to discuss the specifics of the sketch phase.

      • Outline Details: Define key elements such as the project space, participant group, budget, and timeline.

2. Community Engagement: I will involve your community through interactive art activities to collaboratively develop and refine the artwork’s design.

If there are budget limitations for this phase, I can help with funding strategies.

Step 3: Realization Phase

  1. Receive Report: After the sketch phase, you will get a report detailing the plan, timeline, cost estimates, and methodology for building the artwork/monument.
  2. Preparatory Meeting: We will have a meeting to review and finalize all details before the production begins.
  3. Community Involvement: Your community will actively participate throughout the realization phase with artistic co-creation
