I provide a welcoming and inclusive creative environment for individuals to come together, share their stories, and actively engage in collaborative art projects.
My primary practice creates empowering spaces for participants to co-create art that reflects their shared experiences, promotes diversity, inclusion, and strengthens the bonds between members.
It acts as a catalyst for building a sense of belonging and community through the power of artistic expression and co-creation.

Hi, I’m Beatriz, I’m a socially engaged artist, curator, educator and activist
- Who am I?
I’m a Spanish multidisciplinary artist based in Aarhus, Denmark, with training in furniture design from Escuela Superior Arte12 in Madrid, 3D design from Bath Spa University, and curatorial studies in public art from Valand Art & Design School at Gothenburg University. I bring eight years of experience in socially engaged art.
MISSION
My mission is to help organizations (institutions, companies and communities) to create a sense of belonging, inclusion and engagement among their members through artistic projects rooted in co-creation.

Youth Voices Matter | 2021
Art Program: Participatory Art Kits
In partnership with Ungdomsbureauet at Ungdommens Folkemøde in Copenhagen and Useful Art for Communities (UAC), this installation was crafted to empower youth in articulating their political views and perspectives. Featuring an interactive public platform and live sound installation, the project enabled participants to broadcast their opinions in real time, aiming to amplify their voices and foster meaningful dialogue within the community.
You Are Nature | 2021
Art Program: Tailor-Made Art Initiatives
In partnership with Den Grønne Studenterbevaegelse, Teatret Svalegangen, and Useful Art for Communities (UAC), this interactive installation was featured from August 27th to September 5th, 2021, during the Aarhus Festuge. Co-created by a group of dedicated activists, the installation aimed to engage the public through interactive elements that conveyed a sense of urgency and action regarding environmental issues. Our goal was to provoke thought, inspire engagement, and raise awareness about pressing environmental concerns.
ObjeXs and Effects In Transition | 2019
Art Program: Participatory Art Kits
ObjeXs is a poignant sculpture created in partnership with the Institute for X to honor its memory following its partial demolition and gentrification in Aarhus in 2019. The sculpture – a wooden toolbox filled with ashes from personal objects contributed by the community and burned as part of a performance – was later gifted to the College of Architecture. It is now displayed as a public work of art in the school’s library, situated on the site where B House, one of the main buildings in the area, originally stood. This piece serves as a powerful reminder of the impact of gentrification on individuals and communities, honoring the legacy of what was lost.
Exploring Anxiety – Artistic Research | Ongoing
Art Program: Art Lab
Curated by Beatriz since 2022 this ongoing research series encompasses workshops, happenings, performances, and exhibitions focused on exploring ‘ugly emotions’ such as anxiety. Its goal is to address these often-taboo subjects, foster open dialogue, and deepen understanding and empathy among participants. Additionally, the series serves as a personal journey for both the artist and participants, using the creative process to address and manage these uncomfortable emotions while promoting self-acceptance.
Useful Art For Communities (UAC) | Ongoing Association
In 2018, I founded Useful Art for Communities (UAC) in Aarhus, Denmark, establishing an innovative art platform and artist collective committed to driving transformative social change. Our holistic approach to art and activism unites a diverse group of artists and changemakers in the pursuit of social and environmental justice. We specialize in creating and supporting participatory, community-focused artistic projects that inspire action, amplify marginalized voices, and foster meaningful dialogue.
